The coronavirus pandemic has hit several industries hard, including tourism and travel and retail, with many businesses announcing closures and plans to enter into administration. Arcadia Group, which owns brands such as Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins, is among one of the most recent casualties. While online retailer ASOS has revealed that it will buy some brands including Topshop, Topman and Miss Selfridge, thousands of Arcadia retail jobs are now at risk of redundancy. From our content partner A key weapon in your long-term hiring strategy To offer support to these workers, supermarket chain Aldi has announced that it is aiming to create 4,000 new jobs across the UK this year and is urging those affected by the collapse of Arcadia, as well as Debenhams (the department store announced it is going to close 118 UK stores for good last week) to apply to the positions. In total, it is estimated that around 25,000 jobs would be affected across the UK as a result of the two retail groups’ collapse, according to Retail Gazette. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Aldi noted that it understood how tough times have been and that it hoped these new jobs could help those who have recently
